I am going to answer comments EVEN NOW, FORREALZ, but I just wanted to post and say that sdwolfpup just posted a new John Oxenberger vid and it is gorgeous:

A Bad Dream (Hard Core Logo)

There are quite a few Joe/Billy vids in the world and I have seen and loved a lot of them, but let's be real, there is only 97 minutes of source and after a while, it all starts to feel a little repetitive. Which is only one of the many things that make this vid so fantastic: the opportunity to literally see the story from a completely different point of view than many of us are probably used to doing. I have seen this movie dozens of times and yet there are still scenes and moments here that look completely fresh, seeing them from John's perspective. I also think that of all the sad stories in this movie, John's is the saddest, and the way SDW gives him a voice here is a gorgeous tribute to a wonderful character caught in the crossfire of a shitty situation. It's brilliant, and beautiful, and heartbreaking, and you should go watch it! (It's also spoilery for the movie, though not as spoilery as it could be.)

And while I'm here, since many of you on my flist these days are into music and bands and slash and road stories and the like, if you have not seen Hard Core Logo, I can't recommend it highly enough. It's a sharp and brilliant gem of a movie with riveting performances, excellent writing, gorgeous cinematography, deft (and quirky-in-the-best-way) direction, and a kick-ass soundtrack. It is also really, really, REALLY slashy. Hee. So yes. I would very much recommend it!

Also, Hard Core Logo 2 is premiering at TIFF, yes? Anyone going? meresy? I want reports! :D (Also also speaking of TIFF, Hugh Dillon's new creepy clown short is apparently directed by Enrico Colantoni. First of all: d'awwww. Secondly: ET TU, ENRICO?)

i am a sad sad fangirl, recs, hard core logo
