Is the music decent?

Quite decent. It isn't complicated or particularly difficult; it isn't innovative or ground-breaking in the broader field of Music(TM), but it's a lot of fun to do (and, I would think, listen to) - and especially so because it is music from a medium that is near and dear to me. It is grand and sweeping much of the time and works hard to elicit and/or support emotions - broad category: think 'movie music.' I keep thinking that it must have been absolutely wonderful for the composer of the music to take what he had to 'dumb down' for technical purposes (8-bit music! eek!) and say: "This is what I meant."

Here is a link to an earlier performance - the conductor is the same guy that will be here tonight. People who are coming: *Spoiler-ish alert* Don't click on it if you are coming tonight and want to experience it for the first time as a whole.

Now flows innocent blood
On Vana'diel, a vast land
The entire world trembles
In despair from the scourge

Prevented
By no fate
Stopped
By no strength

But through the stormy night
Behold: a star of glory shines!
Against a brutal outcry
Behold: a hymn springs forth!

A shining star, a ringing song:
Dream and pray for us!

Vana'diel! Vana'diel!

Hand and hand together
Across the limitless eternity
We will no longer be put asunder
We will no longer be bound!

Or words to that effect.

Thank you, Anoymous, for the translation for those of us who took Classical Latin istead of something even slightly more useful. The music (even without understanding the words) is wonderful.
