Snow Advice

Ok, so we have snow, and then lots of rain, which is saturating the snow, but not melting it. The streets surrounring the house are rapidly deepening (some under greater than a foot of water at this point) and the questions is ( Read more... )

Given those options, I am a fan of more-grippy ice. But I assume the decision has been made by now, anyway.

Here is another answer to the outdated question, lest it come up again.
I would suggest leaving the bumpy snow, but throwing a copious amount of salt/sand/litter over it before it freezes hard.

Wow, was I drunk when I wrote that? Don;t think so, but geez.

Tried to shovel, bit it was too late. Frozen solid. I got one sidewalk in but the rest was compressed by commuters. stairs fully salted, but not enough salt for the whole sidewalk.
