The Summer Before...Part Two!

Mar 10, 2017 14:48

I can't believe I started this snark back in July! So much has happened since then...I met the love of my life, I went back to school, and I also got diagnosed with Bipolar type II, which has turned out to be an amazing thing because it's helped me get my life back on track. :) And...I am back. To snark and to enjoy snarks. You guys have never been ( Read more... )

Kristy is exasperated at her friend's constant worrying--*sighs* Unfortunately that's the feeling I think I get around me. I'm a huge worrier and it's not like I'm having my own private party by driving myself nuts, ya know? I don't mean to bother anybody, I just worry and stress about a lot of stuff ( ... )

I'd be hesitant to say he's a good father to his own kids. He's all the time running out of the house if it's a Karen/Andrew weekend. Imo I think Watson's a much better stepfather to to the Thomas kids. And Watson's at least more stable than Patrick. Patrick REALLY fucked with his kids heads a lot of the times. There's leaving to start with, coming back and only seeing Kristy, abandoning her again, inviting the older kids out for his wedding and completely ignoring David Michael's existence ( ... )

Watson is a better stepfather than a father, which is kind of sad. I feel like he doesn't discipline Karen out of divorce guilt and that is doing much more harm than good. And I get mad that Kristy always tucks in Karen at the Big House. It's a small thing, but for a kid her age it's a Big Thing. He's a much better parent in the BSC books than in the LS books, I think. Which is really fucked up if you think about it. Dammit, Ann.

Kristy said he was a good father, not me. :P And I do understand where she's coming from when it comes to Watson, but she's still taking things a bit too far, imo.

As for Stacey and Laine...I have no clue what ANM was thinking getting them to be friends again. I'm just glad after #51 they 'broke up' for good.

The sad thing is, I'm sure Janine got Claudia a book that she thought would interest her, but Claudia won't read anything but Nancy Drews, so it was a nice thought.

Thanks for reading the snark! Part three is coming soon! :D

I feel really bad that Kristy's letter to her father got the 'Addresse Unknown' treatment, but I didn't need the definition lesson, even if it is a bit heartbreaking ( ... )

I honestly find Claudia's behavior when it comes to boys more strange than Kristy and Mary Anne's. But then again, I'm a lesbian...sooooo..... I guess that confirms our long standing theory about Kristy. XD

I still don't know how Stacey's parents thought that letting her tell her classmates she has diabetes was going to be so awful. Laine is a bitch and I don't think anything would change that, but i think at least not thinking Stacey is getting all the extra attention for no reason would have helped calm that situation down. And then forcing her to be around Laine until they leave New York? No. You do not force kids to be friends with someone who is treating them like shit. Period.

I am so angry reading Stacey's part. Teenage girls are horrible. I am especially pissed at seeing the name Allison, because I remember Stacey had been really nice to her when she was new to the school and encouraged her friends to invite her to the slumber party, and then she turns out and bullies Stacey. What a piece of shit ( ... )

See, that's another thing...if the McGills and the Cummings are such good friends, why didn't the parents ever address what was going on between Stacey and Laine? It's ridiculous. And I think the McGills are really lousy parents to make their daughter hide her diabetes, and then later ship her to doctor after doctor looking for a 'miracle' cure. And all because they found out they can't have more kids. UGH!

I've said it before...Richard Spier might go overboard on the rules, but I think he's the only responsible parent in Stoneybrook. And I like Sharon too, despite all her airheadedness. Rest of the parents need to take some classes.
