Greeting, lovelies! So, even though it's hot as Satan's ballsack I've been listening to music all day and that always makes me super productive. Like, I even decided to forgo Tumblr in favor of snarking. Because when you listen to music and an interesting video comes up, you have to decide if it's worth muting your music. And frankly, it's too

I think about this a lot too. Like, she does read. You would think she'd pick up some knowledge. With the way she spells, it's like she never reads anything at all. Or like how she misspells the names of her art supplies when it's written right there on the package. It was more believable in earlier books where she was just bad at difficult words but it devolved into her not being able to spell even single syllable words.
It bothers me how much bot Janine and Mal are shunned for wearing glasses. I had to get glasses in sixth grade and I was devastated because it was always painted as this life ending thing. It's funny that glasses are always treated that way when they're a medical aid. You wouldn't see them making fun of Matt if he had hearing aids or something ( ... )

I can't stop laughing
Really Mary Anne? Because it's pretty fucking obvious what they're laughing about. I get that Stoneybrook is a community of sheltered toddlers but I would think she'd realize what they're laughing about.
So do I. Its so obvious what their laughing at. They even say what their
laughing at.
Like the fact that getting the kids together to form a band was Claudia's idea and not K Ron's. In fact they make good headway in getting everything taken care of without K Ron even there.
I wonder if K Ron suddenly exploded at the same time Claudia had her idea
and didn't know why. Claudia comes up with a lot of ideas.
I wish kids told this to the BSC more often. Like when Dawn was bullying Jenny and kicked her out of her own sister's room. Something to let them no they're not happy with how they run things.
So do I. Jenny, Jackie, poor Charlotte it would be so awesome.

laughing at.
They say it, but that doesn't mean Mary Anne would get it. There's nothing to laugh at about Asian eyes, and so someone seeing something to laugh at could definitely confuse someone. It confused the hell out of me. I remember sitting there envisioning Asian people on bikes, and trying to figure out what was funny about their eyes. It really didn't make sense.

If Ann wanted to bring up racism at all in these books, she should have consulted someone on how to work it in in a way we can believe is really there. If she didn't want to do that, then she should have glossed over it.
