I do hope you at least consider posting to our sister comm on DW, though. http://bsc-snark.dreamwidth.org/ I'd hate to see you go altogether.

(I do realize it's a lot smaller right now. I'm thinking of ways to try building new membership there.)

I'd rather not do that, honestly, since not everyone wants to move. But I do urge people to join both if they are also on DW/willing to go there, just in case anything happens that I have to move bsc_snark over there.

I also wanted to announce that this will be my last post on LJ.--Damn, I hate hearing that! I love your snarks. But for the reason you're giving, it's understandable. LJ's been through a lot of bullshit over the years and they've driven away a lot of their users. I honestly still come to this site because of BSC snark and the few things I get notifications for on ohnotheydidnt. The rest of the communities I belong to are pretty much dead

Thanks! I will be posting on DW (I'm gonna work on my next snark right now) so, I won't be gone completely. I mainly joined LJ for bsc-snark alone, so, I'm not leaving much behind. But I'm still sad it came to this. This comm has meant so much to me through the years and bad times. I love snarking and probably will continue to till I run out of books.

Do it right or don't even bother

Right! Like from the start she was writing all white characters so, why suddenly write a book about racisim when only two main characters would ever face it? And her lines about their being an 'assortment' of kids sounds really fucking stupid when they're all white aside from Becca. If she'd made her books diverse from the start, this plot would have made a lot more sense.

I hate this so much. It's like the kids are all resigned to Karen being an overbearing brat so they just always go along with what she says. I dearly wish just once they'd tell her to fuck off, they're playing what they want to play. I really hate

I'm still not able to let go of Euro-centric beauty standards I'm gonna say it: Most white people are boring to look at. Super boring. If you want to do things like lessen the hair on your arms, do it because you want to, and don't feel shame. (A lot of women shave legs without embarrassment.). If YOU think this or that is more comfortable for you, or looks better on you, then do it. Don't feel like you have to live by a set of beauty standards decided by someone else. Some women love facial hair, others aren't comfortable with any body hair. Some like thick hair that may be frizzy due to texture, others may want to straighten it

I'm one of the women who skews the average number of partners the typical woman has way up. So if anyone's a whore, it's me, and that's a name I'll wear with honor

I swear we should make a team called All or Nothing where you represent sexuality and I represent asexuality. We can fight crime! But really, I don't understand the stigma with women being sexual. What business of it of anyone's who sleeps with who or how many partners they have? Like, God. Mind your own damned business!

Being Mexican was such a source of pride

I would have loved that. Even though I went to a pretty ethinically mixed school, the Mexican kids were kinda bottom tier. It got better in middle school where we were the majority but grade school was awful. I also had a white step-grandpa and so we were all trying to impress him or some shit. Which makes no sense because he wasn't racist or anything. I mean he married a Mexican woman with six Mexican kids. He never made us feel bad about our race. I don't know why we decided to assimilate.
