I'm officially insane.  I was accepted to a post-JD program (LL.M. for those in the know) in Taxation.  Two years from now, I might (just might) have another degree.  This is crazy.

David Gray is working on a new album and he's driving me crazy.  He's posted a song called "Breathe" and it is fantastic.  I love smart music.

I did a tiny bit of research on an LL.M., so I hope this isn't a stupid question. You do intellectual property law now, right? Will switching to taxation create a bit of a career change for you? Is that the goal? And where is this program? Is it at UofL?

It is essentially a 'distance' learning program through the University of Alabama. It is web-based and provides complete interaction with our professors and the other students during class. I'll be 'in class' Mondays and Thursdays, 6:30 to 8:30. Pretty neat, really; the professors will be live, on video and we'll be interacting through a web-based chatroom and whiteboard, with a head-set and mic.

Well, this is going to give me another 'arrow in my quiver.' I do a lot of commercial and tax law in my practice, but I do not have anything that shows an expertise in those areas. An LL.M. in taxation will give me the background (and degree) to succeed. I'm not giving up on Intellectual Property, it is just that my practice isn't strong enough in any particular area to be enough, so I'm stretching my boundaries.
