Grad's over, yay! I have a nice new Masters uniform that'll I'll never wear again. Then again... LSMSA's grad is changing to allow the alumni to be in the processional. This is probably the best change to the long and boring past ones. Lots of people don't like it because they think graduation is just for the seniors. However ( Read more... )

I think several of the seniors would disagree... misscelia May 16 2005, 00:34:41 UTC
Well, I guess since I'm such a bad alumna I shouldn't attend... It just seems to me that us marching is excessive, and will cause more distraction than is necessary. I really don't see why so much focus needs to be on us at grad... just us being there and standing up as a big group seems enough to honor the tradition of LSMSA... putting the alums behind the seniors would effectively do away with another grad tradition, where the junior run up to take the seniors seat after the seniors have left... Seth and I have been separate for several months, and I'm sure another two hours wouldn't kill us, it just seems silly for him to have to sit by himself or with strangers when we could enjoy the ceremony together. You're defending this idea so much I'm starting to think it was your idea or something....

Sorry you had a bad time in Jeff City... I'm not sure I understand the whole guilt thing, but you've been fairly vague about everything anyway...

If it were my idea, I'd take credit for it. It's a damn good idea; No matter when a change happens, some class is going to be pissed off. Very few students actually care about honoring the school anyway, so I don't think it matters too much - just remove recognizing the alumni entirely.

Right now I don't give a shit anymore about the school, the students or the alumni. I might just petition the state to shut the damn thing down. Then again, when I'm not so drunk I might think otherwise.
