Sometimes, she tries, speaking of the burdens of secrecy, of the need for children, of the agony of caring for an old and sick woman, until he stops her words with hungry kisses and soft touches, leaving his seat to press her back against her own.
Always, she gives in, as he shows how little he cares for her arguments as he slips into her and times his breaths to her own, as he kisses his own reasoning into her skin and twines his own rationales into her hair.
One day, she’ll win the debate, she swears. But not today.
