This is a suggestion made by fragrantwoods a few weeks ago, and I think it's a great idea. If it works, we may start alternating our Fridays between this, and our regular Friday prompting.

Sugar, Spice, and Everything Nice (a Drabble Quartet):

Lee Adama (Sugar):

Lee Adama remembers a time when everyone called him “sweet” - and conventional. Uptight.

He remembers staring after Zak as he would heedlessly rip cardboard for planes and military gear, remembers listening as flight commanders praised Kara’s ‘unconventional’ flight style and daredevil maneuvers, and remembers his first university girlfriend’s parting kiss (to his forehead) and sad smile as she walked away for greater adventures on Scorpion.

He used to regret it, used to resent it, but he stands now facing the airlock, facing his father’s best friend, and he would give anything to bring back the person he used to be.

Laura Roslin (Spice):

She had adored experimenting with (on, they would say) her sisters. A little added spice to life never hurt anyone, she’d tell them - even as they laughed and feigned disdainful shock with a Laura! before giggling hopelessly with her ( ... )

Ooh...sad and sassy and fun, then more sad, then poor confused, mysterious Sharon. And "being smarter than death itself to get by"...very Laura, very BSG :-)

Thank you! The first flowed out really quickly first- then the others just sort of... tacked themselves on as part of a series - apparently. LOL *doesn't know what I'm writing sometimes*

And I'm glad that one line hung with you and made sense. I actually re-wrote that one three times before settling on that. :)

Love all of these, especially the fun, playful side of Laura and the realism in Billy's view of the president. So many thinky thoughts in so few words!

I love all of these! And how they fit into the rhyme. I actually especially love the Sharon one, and how the word makes her skin crawl so much. And Billy. And Laura. And Lee. Heh. Beautiful, all of them.
