Inspiration Day: Drabble Time

This is a suggestion made by fragrantwoods a few weeks ago, and I think it's a great idea. If it works, we may start alternating our Fridays between this, and our regular Friday prompting.

Zak told him once that Kara was rough around the edges but sweet in her own way…sweet as candy. He’d smirked when he’d said it, crowing in his older brother’s face.

Lee had to agree. Kara was sweet as candy, all right.

Scorpion ginger pepper candy, maybe, pulpy and tart, rough with sugar crystals, salt, and chili, smoky hot and sour-sweet. The first taste was sharp and strong, then a sugar rush, then the burn building to a scorching finish.

Never again, why would anyone want this, you’d say, before finding yourself reaching for more.

One more taste of Kara.

Ooh - this is great, and I love that while it's basically a [really apt] description of Kara, the nuances of sibling rivalry between Zak and Lee that starts it all off really rang true and echoes in the rest of it. It makes a really powerful impact. :D

Yes! This is the perfect description of Kara in candy form. ;) And now you've made me want mango candy with lime and chili...yum!

Glad you liked! I love Thai tamarind candy but it's sooo much sugar... And now I must seek mango candy!
