I liked this episode a lot, back when I still had faith (har har) that the show was going somewhere interesting with it. The Demetrius/Basestar plotline was awesome, and I didn't mind the Laura Roslin stuff too much -- the river scene was a little too on-the-nose (the show was always better when the metaphysical stuff was equally likely not to have happened), but Mary's acting totally sold it.
That said, season 4.5 wrecked it for me. It's just too hard not to think about where they were going with all this, especially since a lot of the concepts that really drove me crazy in the next season more-or-less started with this storyline (people who don't want to die are bad and should die! There are zero repercussions when ~~**our heroes**~~ do nutty, risky, hurtful things out of pure emotion... whereas humanity Must Have Justice! Feelings (especially LURVE and FAITH) are more important than reality

Kara, natch. The whole Joan-of-Arc thing had its charms, but it was such a relief to see her get to be a fully-in-possession-of-her-faculties badass again for the first time in the season. Her face is so adorable!
The mutiny. It's one of the best examples of something this show was almost always really good at: creating believable conflict between sympathetic characters, without making me hate any of them because they're acting nonsensically in order to create the conflict. I can completely understand why all the different characters are acting as they are here, and why that --> inevitable conflict. Ditto the baseship standoff.
Adama! I think this was the last time in the entire series, so it's extra-special. ;)
Athena! See above. ;)
Saaaaam.
Everyone on the baseship watches the Eight bleed to death. Presumably she's the same Team Second Mutiny Eight from before, because she reaches out to Athena and asks for her forgiveness. Athena can't bring herself to touch her hand and pulls

This episode will always hold a special place in my heart, because it's the episode where I suddenly took notice of the Sixes- specifically, the Six that killed Barolay (that I mentally refer to as Faith.) The way she talks about what happened to her- the way she's so heartbroken over what happened to her, and the way she couldn't get over it even all this time later, because she wanted to help them... it just destroyed me. It was the first time I really saw the Sixes, and the first time I saw the Cylons as more than just human-killing machines.
That being said: NATALIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE and the rest of my Sixes; crying like no other; this episode gave me more fodder for my I loathe Athena campaign; Kara's adorable little face; and I really like the stream/river thing.
Oh my god, why did it never occur to me to name her Faith?! *sob*
Anyway, YES I'M NOT CRAZY. *clings to you* Obviously I already loved the Sixes at this point, but wow, Tricia sold the hell out of that character in just one scene. And I have to say this was the first time I really connected to Natalie. I kind of... abstractly liked her before? But it took that moment where she is decisive and brutal and merciful all at once, to really make me flail over her.
