Title: Shoe's on the Other Foot (The Six of One By Three Remix) Pairing: Bill/Saul/Laura Rating: PG Summary: For once, it seems like Saul is the one holding it together. Original Story: Six of One By Three by singerdiva01_sk
Interesting change to choose Saul's POV. His perspective of their switch of strengths/drinking habits, combined with his trepidation about his Cylon origin adds a new layer to the tale.
I love having this from Saul's pov - he's unsure of himself, and yet he gets shit done because it needs to be done. He doesn't shrink from the responsibility of his place in this relationship, and it makes him stronger than he thinks he is.

Saul is the perfect recovering alcoholic here, knowing from experience just what Bill's going to do and feel. That he's wrestling with his own demon of being a Cylon is especially poignant. There's something I just love about Saul being in the middle of Bill and Laura--a buffer and a conduit at the same time. This feels hopeful for a couple of good months, even with the Cylon shoe waiting to drop. Lovely riff on a great original.
Ooooh, I love this so much!!!! Saul's POV here is so powerful here. On the one hand, it's hard for him to be the one stepping in and making Bill see how much his drinking is hurting others because he's been on the other side so many times. On the other, it's really wonderful to see him pulling it together and being able to step into this role in this little family.
I think I like the remix more than the original story I wrote -- great job, author!
