Oh gosh... I'm so sad and ashamed that it has taken me so long to get to this, but I decided to hold off until RL gave me a breather - or I got desperate enough between midterms and family... things to just sink into this story properly - which... is actually what happened. LOL

I am humbled by and in awe of what you did with my original ficlet, and you, as always, are a mistress of imagery - of capturing the full evocative power of language. What amazes me even more than how you managed to fit in the parallels to the Odyssey so subtly but respectfully into your remix is that you made it feel completely real... *shudders with the loss of words and a surge of feels* THANK YOU! *cries a bit* Thank you so much for writing this. I love the story you tell here, that Laura - without Bill and without any sort of "power" or political title was still so very active in this epic - and it FITS, it fits so well with all my original imaginings and parallels with regards to Penelope.
