Aw, I love this. And the ending, the way they don't say what they're both thinking. The observation about Sam not being loved back. Really nicely played. Very well done!

I really enjoyed this. I agree, the ending is especially awesome, that they both kinda suspect that they saw the same thing but don't admit it. Oh boys just say you love each other and get it over with ;)
I also loved this line particular:

It was bittersweet. He knew he'd loved him. He'd been so happy. And there was something about it that pulled at him, that instead of giving joy only made him feel emptier, like now he knew what they'd had and lost.

This is so heartbreaking - for him to see that past life and feel how happy they were and know that they might not experience that again in this life is so sad but it really is spot on.
Thank you so much for sharing this, I really loved it!

You know, I wasn't sure what Sam was thinking, but I'm glad you took it that way. I think it adds depth to it, and now I wish I'd been thinking that when I wrote it. I really wish we saw more of what Sam saw, not just Tyrol in his emoglasses.

Thanks

Oh, wow. I really like how you start with the details about the absence of the sensual on the ship and the contrast with the sensory memory from the past. And then you fold this bittersweet love story into it, and it's just lovely.

I'm so glad to see Sam/Tyrol, and I'm especially glad it's so hurty and good. :)

Aw, thanks. I was tempted not to make it so sad, but I just couldn't. Not for a few episodes anyway. Its just too bleak at this point. >.>

They're a couple I really love and just hadn't gotten around to really writing much for. They're just so cute, somehow, just so normal.
