Laughter echoed around the wide field as Laura watched the small pyramid game in front of her. Bill was currently fending off Lee, preventing his eldest son from stealing the ball while Zak and Kara yelled encouragement to their respective team mates.
The teams had been divided up into Bill and Kara versus Zak and Lee; both sons wanting to simply beat their father at his own game.
She could tell Bill was showing off for her, the sly wink he gave when he passed by where she was sitting let her know he was putting in an extra effort to impress her.
And she loved him for it.
His hands released the ball as he managed to score yet anther point and Laura was suddenly overcome with memories of what those hands could do.
Even though it had been several weeks since they had first slept together her mind always slipped back to that time.
How his hands felt as they skimmed across her cool skin, the nimble digits finding that perfect spot within her. She remembered how strong the muscles on his arms felt as she grasped them and screamed his name in passion.
Those hands that she was currently appraising had held him up when he pumped in and out of her, the moonlight casting a serene glow on their joined form. They had stroked her hair as he waited for her to come down from the high of her second orgasm before finally giving in and succumbing to his own release.
She snapped out of her inappropriate daydream as she caught sight of Bill strolling toward her. Judging by the smirk her wore he knew the direction her mind had taken.
“Enjoying yourself?” he flirted with her.
“Hmm, I could think of a few other ways to enjoy myself right about now,” she flirted right back.
The smirk remained in place but she noted the slight colouring of his cheeks. She would never tire of their playful banter and hoped he wouldn’t either. He opened his mouth to reply but Kara beat him to it.
“Boys versus girls!” the young woman yelled from the make-shift pyramid field.
Bill quirked an eyebrow at Laura in invitation.
“Oh no..no no NO!” She screamed as Bill picked her up from her seat on the grass and carried her to join the others.
“Which one of you boys wants to sit this one out?” he asked his sons as he deposited her beside Kara.
Kara promptly dragged her away to begin their ‘team talk’ while Lee volunteered to let the couples battle it out.
“Okay, the good news is that Zak will target me, he likes to think he’s tougher than me. The bad news is that leaves you to deal with the old man and trust me there’s nothing old about him when it comes to this game. But you probably know how well he performs during physical activity.”
Laura blushed at the girl’s blatant goading but didn’t offer any denial. She didn’t like to talk about her personal life with people, but she didn’t like to lie either.
Sex with Bill was incredible. She had good sex before but this was connecting on a different level and even though something like that used to scare her, she now revelled in it. Craving more as each day passed.
“Shut up and talk strategy, Thrace.”
“Yes sir!”
Kara snapped a mock salute and lay out a quick game plan. She tried to talk through Laura’s nerves but it was no use. Hands shaking, Laura stepped up and faced Bill as Kara placed the ball on the ground.
“You’re going down, Thrace!” Zak called.
“Bring it on, Adama!”
Bill and Laura didn’t offer any fighting words but their gazes locked, both determined to beat the other. Kara grabbed the ball and attempted to move past Zak who, as predicted, blocked her path straight away.
She tried to duck and weave past him but it was no use, Bill had taught him well. Finally desperate enough she threw the ball to the awaiting hands of her teammate.
Laura rushed forward, barrelling into the solid form of Bill. His stance was solid and she whimpered in pain as she collided with him. He immediately moved to comfort her.
“Laura are you alr--“
Using his now weakened stance, Laura turned and pushed past him easily. She scored the first point of the game and ran to celebrate with Kara.
“I told you it would work!” Kara screamed in happiness.
“Don’t get too excited, I won’t let that happen again. It’s on, Roslin,” Bill growled.
Laura simply smiled sweetly and resumed her position to continue the game. She didn’t score again but she did assist Kara.
With the scores all level, Kara found herself unable to find a way past Zak. Laura ended up with the ball. She tried to dodge past Bill but he instinctively thrust his arm out. She stumbled forwards and fell against him. As he’d been stretching out, he wasn’t quite as steady on his feet as he should have been and he fell back, consequently causing them both to tumble to the ground.
Bill let out an oomph when she landed across his chest.
“Bill, are you okay?”
“Yeah.” He chuckled. She giggled in response.
His arms wrapped around her waist holding her to him for a moment. She placed a small kiss against his lips before he loosened his hold so she could climb off him. They laughed happily again as they helped each other rise up off the ground.
Lee had joined the group and she noticed all three of the kids were pointedly looking away from her and Bill.
“That’s enough for one day, I think,” Bill said. “You’re all staying for dinner?”
“Not tonight, Dad. There’s a party for one of the guys at the training base tonight that we’re all going to. You and Laura enjoy your night.”
After they had said their goodbyes, Bill sat on the grass where Laura had been earlier. He opened his arms and she positioned herself in front of him, between his legs, as his arms wrapped around her.
Leaning her head back against his shoulder she sighed happily. He placed a kiss on her temple, drawing a small hum from her.
“Happy?” He breathed the question against her skin.
“Unbelievably so.”
“Good.”
“Hmmm, it is good.”
They lapsed back into a comfortable silence and Laura took the opportunity to survey the sight before her. The fading sun shimmered on the water of the small lake and Laura followed it until her gaze fell on the empty cottage.
Bill had shown it to her once and she had fallen in love with it instantly. I was bigger inside than it looked, with a living room, kitchen, bathroom and two bedrooms. He was right when he said it needed painting, but other than that she could see it being a perfect place to live.
Her gaze roamed along the stone walls when she noticed something out of place.
“Bill?”
“Hmmm.”
“What is that?”
“What is what?”
“By the cottage. Are they painting supplies?”
“Yeah,” he sighed. “I was going to surprise you. I’m cleaning it up inside.”
“Surprise? Why?”
“Because I love you and I wanted it finished before I asked you.”
“Asked me what, Bill?” she asked breathlessly.
“I know this is probably too soon, we’ve only been dating for two months, but I want us to live together. I want to make a home with you, Laura.”
She tilted her head to look up at him, concurrently fighting the onslaught of emotions she suddenly felt. Gods this man made her feel so much.
“You know I’ve lived in a lot of places but I’ve never really felt at home until you brought me here. And it wasn’t the house that did that.”
“Is that a yes?”
“Yes.”
He kissed her then. Slowly and softly until she thought she was going to melt at the sensation. She broke away as an errant thought popped into her head.
“What about the house?”
“I'm turning it into a museum and opening it to the public. Any extra money we make, I can donate to the school”
“Oh Bill!”
“Looks like you’re getting your books and those new desks.”
Laura snaked an arm around his neck and pulled him to her for a another kiss. When they pulled away again she re-situated herself to resume looking at the cottage.
Her new home.
Their new home.
“Will you take care of the garden?” She asked as the sun dipped even lower behind the hills surrounding them.
“Me?”
“Yes, the garden you have here is wonderful.”
“Oh....Laura, I get someone to take of that. I’ve not got much of a green thumb.”
Her laughter shook them both and soon he joined her, his low rumbles the sweetest sound she had ever heard.
“That’s okay, Bill. We’ll figure it out.”
“Together,” he replied.
“Together.”
