LwD Books Part 2

I have a million and one other things I need to be doing, but I wanted to get out my thoughts on Breakup Blues first. I just finished it. It was pretty darn cute.

Slight spoilers:
According to Heather Alexander (this book's author), Jamie is ten, Lizzie is eleven, and they've been friends "for years." I know the LwD timeline sucks, but this kind of screwup is unforgivable. Does Heather forget Lizzie lived nowhere near London up until a year ago? Unless Jamie just happened to move there at the same time. Please.

Kendra's best friend's name is Paige. This made me chuckle. And Paige is dating a loser named Craig. More chuckling. Either Heather watches Degrassi, or Paige and Craig are really common Canadian names. (And if she does watch it, how weird is it that Kendra's best friend looks EXACTLY like her?!?)

Sheldon, and I quote, "Rocks Emily's world." This is so very dirty and adorable I can't stand it. Heather is so a Shemily shipper.

We get to see the Dendra breakup, which is a nice addition to canon, but their ship name is Kend-rek. (That's what kids at school call them.) Can you say LAME?!

Lizzie has a big role in this book. That makes me happy. Though there is still no Lizwin friendship. That makes me sad.

Smelly Nelly's is a vegetarian restaurant. I didn't know, or notice that on the show. Hmm.

Sally goes to Thompson in the book. Why change such a (sorta) big detail?

The biggest Dasey hint of the book, besides Derek writing in her diary..."He never met a girl he couldn't charm, and Casey didn't count because she was a weird breed of girl." So in the book, Derek doesn't go after her, NOT because she's his stepsister, NOT because she barely registers as a girl to him, but because SHE'S NOT HIS TYPE. I love that. Heather ships Dasey.

That's enough about that. Go read the books! :)
