I’m attempting the whole “embed videos” thing, so we’ll see if lj likes me enough to do it today!

10. Something to Talk About (Bonnie Raitt) - openmouthwideeye
This song was practically written for the fandom - it’s kinda about us! Casey’s POV. Rumors prompt Casey to reevaluate her feelings for Derek, and she realizes she’s fallen for him. She hopes he feels the same way, but can’t be sure…until the end.
I love the looks of the J.S. Thompson extras in reaction to Mike and Ashley’s manhandling of each other. I wonder if any of them ship Dasey. How could they not?

9. Just So You Know (Jesse McCartney) - xmiseryx2
This is just such a Dasey song. Derek’s POV. He is head-over-heels for Casey. He wants to tell her, but he can’t bring himself to do it for the longest time. In this vid Casey seems to sense that something is going on with him, which I like.

8. Don’t Flatter Yourself (Aly & AJ) - iLuvArcticMonkeys
I love that this one has a definite storyline to it. It’s so well done, and very them. Here’s the official plot: Casey realizes underneath all the fights, she really likes Derek, so she tries to tell him how she really feels. Instead, Casey gets so nervous that she makes up a story about how her "friend" has a crush on Derek. However, since Casey is such a terrible liar, Derek knows who she's REALLY talking about and decides to tease and torture her about it. Casey completely denies it. She won't truthfully admit to liking Derek unless he admits that he likes her first. Basically, Derek acts like the cocky, smug jerk he always is, expecting Casey to back down first. Of course, both of them are so freakin’ stubborn, they'd rather kick themselves in the face than admit defeat. In the end, Derek just can't take it anymore...He's just about to tell Casey....but oh look. Another classic LwD Dasey interruption. Sigh.

7. Chemicals React (Aly & AJ) - stephluvvsyou
Yeah, I know, another Aly & AJ. But they write such Dasey songs, and this one is the obvious “Derek and Casey have major U.S.T.” song. Casey’s POV. She’s struggling to accept her feelings for Derek, because she thinks the odds are low that they could work out. But on the other hand, she can’t really fight her feelings, and she knows he can’t, either. I love how on the “chemicals react” line a bunch of colors flash across. So cool.

6. Over and Over (Three Days Grace) - chinogal23
Derek’s POV. He keeps beating himself up over his crush on Casey. It never seems to go away, no matter what he does. And every time he sees her, all his feelings rush to the surface. The “over and over” parts are perfect, and I just love the whole self-loathing thing Derek’s got going on here.

5. Memory (Sugarcult) - SDABHHFAN4LIFE
Derek’s POV. This song is sort of confusing, in my opinion, but here’s how I see it: Derek wants to be with Casey but isn’t sure it’s a good idea. They could break up and never be okay around each other again. He wants things to go back to normal, when he didn’t have these feelings, but he can’t. He’d rather be her memory than risk losing everything they have. The “back, back, back” parts are really fun, and while the song is sort of bittersweet, I’m choosing to believe it has a happy ending.

4. Colorblind (Counting Crows) - greenfiend03
Derek’s POV. He didn’t realize how boring his life was until Casey came into it. She’s the color in his black-and-white life. He keeps trying to tell her how he feels, but it’s difficult, and he never manages to get the words out. I think making the colors come in and out of the scenes when Casey enters them was a genius move. Also, I love the fact that this song is from a movie about stepsiblings lusting after each other.

3. I Love You (Nine Days) - caligurl777
Ignore the first 15 seconds. (Though I kind of like the opening - all I can think is: look, it’s Jessica Wakefield!) Derek reflects on his life and his happiest memories with his wife Casey and their daughter (played by Marti). This vid is utterly brilliant. The clips really work together well, and I totally believe Marti is their daughter. And it’s lovey-dovey Derek-is-whipped fluff. What’s not to love?

2. Love You Anytime (The 88) - tvFANatic26
Derek’s POV. Casey drives Derek crazy, but he wouldn’t have it any other way. He reflects on all their memories together and knows she’s totally worth it. I especially love the manip of Casey and Derek in the bed. So adorable. This vid is all-around ridiculously happy-making.

1. Her Eyes (Pat Monahan) - tvFANatic26
Derek’s POV. He is head-over-heels for crazy Casey. I like to think they’re already together in this vid, and it’s just a bunch of adorable moments between them. Except for the “doesn’t panic for the most part” line, and a few others, this song was practically written for Casey. I can’t get over how well it explains their relationship. I get warm fuzzies just thinking about this vid. Definitely my all-time favorite.
