This takes courage

Since the big week is about to be upon us (come on, you know, Julia Week (with a little Dee in the middle), and I am hoping to run into some chenzelfriends, I thought it might be useful to be accessible and just be me. I'm pretty good at being friendly, but can be shy when met face to face. So peeking over the veil of the computer screen, I will be ( Read more... )

Way cool! Being an enigma requires some intelligence. Lots of balls to juggle in the air at once so you don't divulge too much.
Ask one question, I will answer truthfully.

I will ask a random/boring question.

How did you first find out about Wicked and what made you such a huge fan of the leads of the show?

The winter of 2003, I was in Steamboat, Colorado visiting friends, and we wandered into a local book store, where the staff had an "our favorites" section. There was a glowing comment card about WICKED. I bought it and read it in two days (I did have to ski, you know). When I got back home, I forced one of my book groups to read it a few months later. They were split, some of these ladies are not into the alternative reality thing (you should have seen them when I got them to read The Time Traveler's Wife!). Anyway, when the pre Broadway production was announced for SF, I spearheaded a group to go and see the June 1st show. I was hooked the moment Dee rose to the stratosphere: standing on the cherry picker and her voice as well ( ... )

I cherish your compliments. Truly they have a special light in my heart.

I would like to know what kind of work you do and what interesting turns your career path has taken.

I have several questions. Is that allowed?

1) What is your name?
2) How old are you?
3) What is the air speed velocity of a swallow?

1. I have many names. They are all the derivative of Elizabeth (although, I have nothing to do with that particular name): Betty, Beet, BS, BBoobs, BeetFeet, Bets, Bette, Bettie, my brother called me PearFace for a while in college, BettyLou, and my friend from work calls me Pod. I think having nick names is one of the best things friends can do for each other.

2. As to age, I am the square root of 9,144,576, divided by 12, times 3, plus 756, divided by 12, less 63, minus 1

3. As I am a very ardent and long time Monty Python fan, I do know the answer to this question.
Here it is as told by Arthur King of the Britons himself:

In one of my past lives I was Noel Coward, but no one asked me that. Thank you for the compliment. I feel a blush in my cheeks, but wish it were from another source. bs, your friend and monkeyworshiper

I'm terrible at thinking of questions, on the spot that is (rest assured, as soon as the opportunity leaves I'll have a bundle). I'll try though..

- If you could give one piece of advice on raising children, what would it be, and why? (As in, is there an incident in your (parental) lifetime that this has stemmed from).

- How did you find LJ?

But, who am I kidding. I will probably (finally) steal this.
