Be thankful for cold air below and above 2000 foot else you get what we got last week. ICE. Snow = pretty. Ice = pain in the tuckus. Besides, once every five years or so is handleable, right?
It quit raining today. 1st day in a week. We have overflowed the ponds, and creeks, and low-lying areas. Hopefully, Lake Lavon will fill up and we won't be in water rationing anymore. (It currently is still listed as 10 feet below normal.)
Water and mud but that is much better than drought. Hang in there thru the bout of fluffy white stuff. This, too, shall pass.
Love ya!
(And, BTW, we blew the "No more ER trips" mandate. Fri, 9:30 pm. Zeke + roller skates = sprained wrist. ER doc was sure it was broken till the xrays came back. But, enough to blow his (read our) red belt TKD test on the 27th. He's to have no PE until cleared by the physician next week, is in a hard splint, and it will most likely take longer than a week for him to be able to safely punch something. So, red belt will be delayed (again) til spring.)
Consequences for choices and actions are often discouraging.
It's too bad that he will have to pass on the testing, but, at least he isn't in the "did the wrist bones all heal in proper alignment" question mode. Tell him I think he is darn lucky that it wasn't broken.
It takes time to recover from stuff like this. Every time I would get a serious sprain, it seemed to take multiple months for it to fully recover. Though it should be noted that most of my stupid injuries were when I was in my twenties so perhaps Zeke will heal faster. :)
That is what I am hoping for. When I was in PT for the knee there was a teenager who was recovering 2x faster than I was. So, for Zeke's sake I hope his metabolism makes short work of this. He is still in some pain, but the prescription pain meds (hydrocodone) make him sleepy so he went to school today without taking them. (I figured he has enough trouble concentrating without narcotics in his system..)
