Day One Introduction

Day Two: First Great Love, in great detail

Day Three: Your Parents, in great detail

October 9, I spent the night with some girlfriends at one of our friend's houses so we slept in late (until 9:30), when we all woke up I was nominated to make pancakes. I like to make pancakes with wheat, sugar, more eggs than milk, one freshly squeezed lime, and a shot of vanilla. My pancakes are so good that you don't even need syrup or jelly, you can just eat them by themselves. That is how my friend Vila eats them. She ate four of them in the order I cooked them, then I hid them in the microwave and told her she needed to wait as we should eat as a family. She just found them after a frantic minute of looking for them, and ate another one, hehe.

So I ate two pancakes, and drank a glass of OJ. Off to shop we went!

We went to Plato's closet and where there by 10:00 am, stopping at a few garage sales along the way. I swear that store is like the twilight zone, because it was going on 3:00 by the time we emerged with our armfuls of gently used clothing, and it felt like we were only in there for 30 minutes. But, man did we work up an appetite! So we stopped at a restaurant called TNT and ordered some Pho, which if you have never had any, is pretty much the most satisfying soup you will ever eat. It is served in a huge bowel, with noodles, cilantro, green onion, meatballs and shrimp (which is what I can always get, you can get pretty much any assortment of meat or seafood you want). You top it off with a different assortment of asian leafy vegetables and bean sprouts, along with Chile sauce, hoison sauce and lime juice. I also really like peanut butter in mine, but the restaurant does not offer peanut butter so I had to do without. I got a medium, and the bowel was still as big as my head and I could only choke down half of it. And it kept me full all day, so I didn't eat anything else that day, except one piece of chicken (a leg) towards the end of the night, and a pinch of sticky rice so I could try to pepper sauce my loas mom had made that day.
