I haven't been watching much anime recently. The only series I'm currently following is Nana, which is romance shoujo type of thing. But its pretty mature so I guess its a Josei (according to Wikipedia). It follows the lives of a gal named Nana and her flatmate Nana as they try to be grown ups in Tokyo. I think you might like it.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Melancholy_of_Haruhi_Suzumiya_%28anime%29 is one I watched this last Fall. Wikipedia says its a Seinen... I dunno. Its really quite weird. More confusing because it was released on TV with its episodes out-of-order so there is controversy about what order is the "true" order (I watched it as released on TV). Anyways, it has some good "WTF?" and funny moments.
