if HRC gets the nomination, she will turn out the Republicans like nothing else. The "whore of Babylon" effect is going to be tough to beat.
Hillary might fire up the Democratic base, but that base has some major problems. First, it's relatively small. Second, it's geographically diffuse--while there may be enough hardcore dems nationwide, they are either concentrated in the large coastal cities or too few and far between in the hinterlands to turn an election. Third, the Democratic base is notoriously unreliable. They blog a good game, but never show up at polling day.
The GOP is broader-based and tends to dominate in those segments of the population that actually participate in politics rather than whining about them on the internet.
