I actually found the situation sort of creepy, because I do think Helo almost forgot that this was not HIS Sharon, until the Eight said or did something that reminded him. That on top of Roslins comment... shudder.

But it is true that he is true to HIS Sharon. He doesn't bunch them all together. To him, they are individuals, albeit very close copies.

In order to rescue Hera, Helo must kill Athena. Do you think this was the right decision? What impact do you think it had on their relationship?

Mm, I think that Helo shooting Athena made her feel like their relationship was stronger... but he might not agree.

Do you feel Helo reacts appropriately when dealing with Sharon's duplicate models? Are her 'sisters' the same as her?

I doubt Helo thought about it very much until finding out how very much her duplicates can be like her. I'm guessing that acting 'normally' was reassuring to them, until they realized how very weird it was for him that they can share memories.

Poor Helo. I really do think it was very wierd for him to realize that even though she looks like his wife and pretty much acts like his wife, she ISN'T his wife. And I really do think it took Roslins comment to remind him. Poor guy! It can't be easy being married to a Cylon.

But for all that, I really do think they are HAPPY and their relationship works.

It's interesting because, until that moment, I don't believe Helo's had a chance to interact directly with any of the other Eights (save Boomer who I think falls into a separate category). I do think he was having difficulty figuring out how to deal with the other Eights because while they do think of themselves as individuals, they themselves are struggling with what that means and how to achieve it. Did Sharon find her individuality because she fell in love with Helo? Because she left the other Cylons behind to join the Colonial Fleet? Was she already on her way before finding Helo on Caprica?

Helo's caught in the middle of this 'coming of age' process for the other Eights, and that's gotta be an uncomfortable position to be in.

Ooooh! those are all excellent questions! The romantic in me wants to say yes, Sharon found her individuality because of love, but I really think its more than that.

I think she found it by being so close to all these humans and sharing their experiences. Which makes me wonder how that will ultimately play out with the sleeper Cylons. We've already seen hints of it with Tigh. He feels human, he has human allegiances. But he also feels the tug of the Cylons.

So interesting what that bit of individuality means...
