I hate to laugh, but I can relate. This is why I always have Xanax for holiday and family gatherings.

Sounds like you did a pretty good job of dealing with all that. I hope the "poor girl" finds someone who knows how to help her learn her environments and function to the best of her ability.

I think the one that gets to me the most is the grandchildren thing. I'm all the time adopting sisters, but that's a little bit different I should think. Though I suppose, if you're of a certain age, being called grandma and grandpa makes more sense than the generic aunt and uncle for non-relations. Hmm.
