You know, I'm not going to debate you over the racial connotations of the flag. Sure, a certain segment of the populace identifies it with racism. That is just a fact. But why should that segment of the population be more important than everyone else? I'm offended that shows like According to Jim stay on the air while unique and original shows like Wonderfalls get the axe, and I'm sure that every one of the Wonderfalls fans out there agree. Does that mean that CBS should have to cancel According to Jim and brand all the viewers who like it morons? No, it just means that we disagree. I have the right to consider those people idiots and morons or whatever, but my opinion shouldn't be foisted on the general public, no matter how much I'd like it to be

A certain segment of the populace identifies the flag with racism? Yeah, 95% of it. What exactly has been declared racist that you thought wasn't? If I said that bushes are misogynistic, people would think I was a nutbar, they wouldn’t go cut every bush down. The rebel flag being perceived as racist didn't happen because one guy said that it was racist. I understand what you are saying: a small portion of the population shouldn't dictate what the majority do. To a certain extent, I agree with that assertion, but I also believe that the majority shouldn't have carte blanc to do whatever they want regardless of how it affects the minority
