Author's Notes: Takes place on the morning of the Halloween episode of Season 6.
Buffy yells at Dawn to hurry up. Dawn runs into the kitchen, grabs a knife and a pumpkin from the table. "You have no time for pumpkin carving", said Buffy. "You should have thought of that last night. You're late for school." "Mom would have let me carve it", said Dawn. "No she wouldn't!", shouted Buffy. Dawn grabbed her backpack and as she passed Buffy, she said through gritted teeth, "You should have stayed dead. Willow should never have brought you back!". As Buffy watched Dawn disappear out the front door, she whispered under her breath, "Oh Dawn, if only you knew!".
