And by hate the changes, I really mean hate the stuff that didn't get dealt with. I tend to lurk but yes I'm still reading and interested. Things usually slow down in the summer.
It's a combination of not being able to afford them, and the fact that my local comic shop closed. I'm so many issues behind, it's ridiculous.
So, yeah, nothing to do with the community... I just stay away from reaction posts because I still plan on reading everything I've missed, and I don't want to be spoiled.
The only reason I don't post more is because I'm usually behind on the discussion going on, as I wait for the Trade and only occasionally get to read preview scans of the issues in question (or scans relating to "LOOK HOW AWESOME THIS IS!"/"UGH! HOW AWFUL!" type posts).
Without a base to start on, I feel it's inappropriate to comment.
Oddly, I love the stories, but there's a plot issue that is really playing on one of my nerves/breaking my SOD (mainly involving Harmony killing someone--even in self defense--on national television and it being glossed over).
Unless our friends in the Twilight have come out and said that is their doing already (and they might have--Like I said, I haven't read the issues in full), it's tugging my Suspension of Disbelief.
im also a trade paperback person, and im only up to vol 4 (i think its #20-25). gotta say, the wait in comic book land is too long for me, i recently read all 10 volumes of Y: the last man, and i loved it hugely, but can't imaine taking 5years to read thet! esoecially the brevity of the genre-in issues, too little info for a month, especially oneshot issues when youve had a cliffhanger.
saying that, i loved the weekly wait for buffy eps in the early days (actually, 2-3weekly because of bbc2's love of snooker and other crap!!)-something i was a bit sad to lose with later seasons when buying the dvds.
i will keep reading the paperbacks, and might comment if i have time (im totally a lurk...er!!)
It's so hard reading stories when the issues are spaced so far apart. The bad side of comics, I guess. I can never remember what has happened before without rereading every issue. I should just wait for trades, but then I'll be even further behind...
