Toshiko glanced towards the autopsy archway, why not just go in there and ask him? It was a perfectly reasonable idea (wasn't it?), on the other hand, Owen's idea of reasonable and hers didn't often match. Biting her lip, she finally made up her mind, took off her glasses and stood up. "Right!" She nodded, then walked purposefully towards the autopsy landing.
Down in the bowels of the autopsy room, Owen Harper was struggling with a cause of death. Scowling at the corpse in front of him, he leaned over it and squinted at a row of holes and gashes across the man's neck.
Gripping the autopsy handrail, Toshiko smiled vaguely at him when she thought he was going to look up at her, when he didn't the smile faded and she sighed. She always hated trying to get his attention, however hard she tried somehow she never managed to time it right. Everyone else- no problem, but never her.
Licking her lips, she cleared her throat and said, "Erm, Owen?"
"Mmm," he replied absently, then waved his scalpel experimentally in the direction of one of the abrasions, Maybe if he took a skin sample? On the other hand, this was the second one he'd had like this lately and it hadn't helped much last time.
"Owen?" She tried again, this time her voice sounding more insistent.
"Alright Tosh, what is it?" he asked wearily, looking up at her.
Blinking at him like a rabbit caught in headlights, Toshiko gulped and then lost her nerve. "Nothing, really, nothing. It can wait, not urgent." Turning quickly, she dashed back towards her desk.
