Movies? Movies.

Who knew that there were good movies out there in the theaters? I've seen Milk and The Curious Case of Benjamen Button. Both were really excellent. Has anyone else seen a movie that's worth seeing since break started?

Let the Right One In. It's amazing. Foreign, though, so you might only be able to find it in fancy theaters.
It's worth the search.

Oh shoot! They had that movie at a nearby theater up until last week. I missed it! Perhaps I can find it elsewhere... It looked excellent. :)

Yes! Go see some movies! It's rare that there are so many good ones out at one time.

I've seen The Spirit, and Yes Man.
If you like old, cheesy comic books, and about 2 hours of silly and dramatic acting, then The Spirit is for you. If that's not your genre, don't do it.
Yes Man is a predictable comedy romp about a downer of a guy whose life sucks, is changed by what amounts to a miracle, and he: 1)Gets girl, 2)Loses girl, and 3)Regains girl.
That said, if you like Jim Carrey's style at all, this is a return to his decent acting abilities circa Liar Liar. Not a bad film, for what it is.
Going to try and see Doubt, Valkyrie, Milk, Benj. Button, and Seven Pounds. Will update later.

Hmm. Yes Man looked interesting, so perhaps I will give it a shot. The Spirit? Hmm... We'll see.

I just saw Seven Pounds tonight and it was also very good. Made me cry though. :) Let me know what you think!

Also, just got back from Doubt. The movie could probably be best described as 'heavy'. The acting was solid as a rock, the story was immersive, and the film techniques and writing were impressive. It's not a happy movie, but it's a good one.

That's one that I will be inevitably taken to. My parents are raving about it. It looks pretty interesting.
