[03:36:05] Bao | Straight for 佐藤健 says: "Near the canal in Otaru, Hokkaido (Otaru Unga), there is, what may truly be, the world's most unusual ice creamshop. This surprisingly popular shop sells the following ice cream flavours: Tofu, Natto (fermented beans), Wasabi ( horseradish), Uni (sea urchin), Kani (crab), Ika Sumi (squid ink), Sakura Ebi ( ( Read more... )

Most of those so called "flavors" seriously freaks me out.. I don't eat half of them as they are, I doubt I'd want to try them when they've ruined a perfectly good ice cream. xD
Have you tried nattou by itself yet?

Oh, yes. Not only that, I actually crave for it at times. Too bad it costs more than 1€ a serving here :\

I didn't mind the taste or the smell, but I found that I couldn't take the texture. It made me nauseous when I tried it in Japan o.+
Well at least you have it there at all, that's more then what most countries do

I got better with bearing textures. Heck, I even manage to suppress the gagging reflex when I bite on something gristly or too-soft in my food (even though I prefer not to bite on such thing >>;) and I can even eat mushrooms and such these days (... that, most likely, comes from dieting)
Spinach and asparagus still are difficult. Well, have to chew nattou well to not make it gag-worthy.
