Wow good for you! :) But then you have a great set of skills and long term jobs etc. You'll be back working before you know it ;)

Wow, after all this time, after all the delays, you are a free man!

Give us some stats: how long really was the employment through the different names, how many managers, how long did you have "that co-worker" and how long were you "alone" (aka "on-call 24x7x365"), and how many scheduled terminations/extensions did you go through?

(I have not had a *lot* of jobs, but I think you were "there" spanning three of my four!)

Let's see. I went to work there with Adept, Inc. in March of 1999. In August of that year, Investors Bank and Trust hired me full-time. I was with them until State Street took over in July of 2007, and my last day was the end of October 2010. So,

11 years and 8 months overall,
11 years and 3 months as a full-time employee,
3 years and 4 months with State Street.

The co-worker was invited to leave in May of 2007, so I was the sole support person for 3 years, 6 months.

The original end date was 12/31/07, so there were several extensions. The only one that felt forced on me was the last one.

I worked about 2,100 nightly cycles during that time. I didn't try to count the number of abends, but it was probably two to three thousand in all.

I try not to think of how long it was. Vicky saw my ID picture (which was taken in March of 1999) and said that I look the same now except for a little more weight.
