what does the title "Internet Services Manager" make you think of?
How about "Technical Lead - Internet Services"?

Edit: Technical Lead for Internet Services was offered. (HR mgr didn't like commas or dashes.) Counteroffer of Internet Services Technical Lead was made (fed up stab in the dark, mostly). ISTL accepted as my Spiffy New Title.

the jury's still out on whether that's an improvement. )

I'm still lobbying for "Tech Guru." Have you put my bid in with Wayne yet?

"Internet Services Manager" -- someone to complain to when a Google search leads me accidentally to porn (or not) or expired pages, and who actually tries to fix these "problems"

"Technical Lead - Internet Services" -- much better. I don't know exactly what this person does, but zie's a smart cookie and will only put energy into keeping things running smoothly, improving things, and resolving real problems.

ISM - somebody who fixes the Internet whenever it's broken for anybody.

TLIS - That's a long name. I get that the Technical Lead is in charge or doing something, but I'm not sure if this is a supervisory role, a forward-thinking planner, or a head technician.

How about "King of the Internet?" There's no confusion there.

Helpfully,
Hyoun

TLIS -- I'm (b) and (c), mostly. In terms of (a), I don't supervise people, but I do "manage" vendors and contracts etc.

When it comes down to it, TL is high-falutin'; mgr is more accurate (in terms of Job Title Inflation these days, at least).
