riding for peace, transport, and teen empowerment
I've had a busy spring, and am now catching up on things...like signing up for a bike-a-thon and asking friends and family about it!
This coming Sunday, I'm riding 25 miles in the Bikes Not Bombs bike-a-thon. BNB is a great organization just up the road from me that recycles bikes to send to countries in Africa and Latin America, while teaching Boston-area teens bike mechanics and leadership skills, and generally having a good time. I actually got two of my bikes growing up from them -- one from their Earn-A-Bike program, and another for participating in an earlier incarnation of this bike-a-thon.
