Hey yOU! Its JoAnn, I totaly agree with you. Those poor soldiers had so carry so much stuff, and really had no choise. That must really suck. The book is also very easy to read, and easy to get involved. so yeah I guess I am done!
See ya tomorrow @ the meet!

It is weird how Cross blames himself. But in a way I think he should. He did pay much more attention to her than his army. I think it was a smart decision to burry her stuff and get her out of his mind.

HEY MAGGIE!!!!!! I also agree with you. I like the book so far, and it is quiet easy to understand. I thought it was weird how obsessed Jimmy was and then right after Lavender died he just gave Martha up like that. But I don't think he'll ever truelly give her up. But I also agree on how every item represented the person and their personality. But could they really carry all those things? But yea that's all i have to really responde to so i will talk to you later. Bye.

Why were you interested in Jimmy Cross's reaction to Ted Lavender's death? Just curious.... I thought it was sad that the one thing that kept Jimmy from thinking about the trauma of Vietnam also had to be sacrificed in the name of duty.

To tell you the truth, I don't know why I was so intrested in Lavender's death. I think just the reaction that Cross had was unpredictable and it suprised me. I didn't think he would burn all his stuff from Martha, because he was so in love with her.
