What do you mean? Do you mean that certain people ought to have identified themselves or told you in person their sad stories? Or that the person who complimented you should have identified themself?

my guess is that she meant the people whose confessions directly spoke to her- say asking her out- would be more worthwhile if they weren't anonymous. How can someone respond to a nameless request?
