On the way to the bath house. kyonko_narrates December 7 2009, 21:23:46 UTC
'You know what this place could really use? Some soap. Or something besides plain old water to clean up with. Somehow I've managed to keep my hair from going completely to the dogs without it, but it'd be nice to be able to properly scrub down for once. When was the last time I had a proper bath anyway? I think.... about nine months now?'

Kyon had a towel and a change of clothing bundled up in her arms for her bath, having woken up from her sleep not an hour ago. Even if Ryoji was no longer here, she still preferred to stay awake during the Dark Hour and had adjusted her sleep cycle accordingly. Thus she was, while still looking a bit rumpled from sleep, on her way to the baths via the bridges connecting everything that had been flooded during the big rainstorm a few months back.

"Rabi! Hi!" she called when she spotted the redhead on the bridge as well, "What's up?"

On the way to the bath house. (I never know if I should call her Kyon or Kyonko ;_; ) holy_hammer December 7 2009, 21:36:48 UTC
Well that was easy enough. Kyonko had a very level head, so it was lucky that he had come across her first. "Hey there," he said cheerfully, his voice not betraying the anxiousness he felt right then, "Oh, there's not a whole lot going on. Just this and that."

He noticed that she had clothing and a towel, so he assumed that she was about to take a bath. Perhaps he could tell her quickly before she went. "Say, do you have a moment?" An explanation might take longer than a moment, but oh well.

Rabi can call her Kyonko since she introduced herself to him that way, if it helps! kyonko_narrates December 7 2009, 22:10:27 UTC
"Sure," she said, adjusting her bundle and turning to face him, "Do you need something?"

If it was a favor for Rabi, she wouldn't mind. Unlike a pair of ribbon-wearing morons she knew, she was fully aware he wouldn't force the work on her and then leave to do who knows what.

Awesome o/ thanks! holy_hammer December 8 2009, 01:41:48 UTC
"Well, you know a couple new people showed up, right?"

Road wasn't the only new one. Another version of Soma had shown up, too. But he wanted to see if Kyonko had seen the post first. Plus it gave him a moment to look around and see if Road was anywhere nearby. He was sure she was still getting settled in, but he hadn't lived this long by being careless.

In front of the fail!house butterflygoboom December 8 2009, 23:16:22 UTC
Nozomi stood in front of her house, holding two bowls from the cafeteria together by the rims. Not too tightly, though, or whatever she had in there rattling against the sides might suffocate. She was also missing the red bow on her uniform.

Unable to wave with both her hands occupied, she settled for smiling and shouting. "Lavi-san!"

Rabi smiled back to Nozomi as he approached her home. "Hey there," he said, "Sorry I'm running late, I've been a little busy lately." Luckily he wasn't here for just bad news. They were going to exchange birthday presents, so there was a bright side to this too.

I lol'd when I saw that it was clearly visible on the new map :( butterflygoboom December 9 2009, 06:12:35 UTC
Nozomi held out her arms and opened the makeshift gift box. A Zubat flew out, with... a bow around its neck? So that was where her uniform bow went. That was probably why her neck and hands seemed to have bat bite marks on them. The strange creature flapped around a bit and, seeing that it was bright and it didn't want to be outside, flew right back into the bowl.

"Happy really, really late birthday!" Nozomi smiled, completely oblivious to her awful present.

Oh, Rabi was surprised by the gift. But it probably wasn't the kind of surprise Nozomi was expecting. It took him a moment to finally realize what it was, as it was flapping about wildly and wouldn't stay still. Luckily he had seen them before here. "Is that one of those bat-things?!"

wandering around anywhere lmao withoutright December 9 2009, 05:57:02 UTC
With nothing else to do lately - the only construction job was the Tower, there was no major crisis, and nothing new or particularly of note to investigate - Roxas had picked up the habit of just... wandering. He knew the Void up, right, left and down now, but if he stopped paying attention and just walked, he'd found that it kept him occupied for long enough to pass the more boring days.

It was still very, very boring.

Thus, while Roxas may not have been an overly social or outgoing person, he still considered seeing Rabi not far away, on a gradual collision course with him, an absolute blessing. He was actually so relieved that he was grinning by the time he and Rabi reached each other.

"Hey," he greeted, a little lamely, but with good enough intention.

Oh good, it was just the guy Rabi was looking for. Rabi didn't know him as well as the others, but he did know that Roxas had some kind of power. Plus Roxas seemed like the type to jump into a fight if something happened, so it was better to give him a heads-up. "Hey there," he said cheerfully with a wave, "I've been looking for you! Do you have a moment?"

He was... surprised, admittedly. Looking for him? People didn't usually look for him; he was used to people waiting and seeing if he'd show up, and not particularly caring either way. He couldn't say it was a pleasant surprise yet, though, because he still had no clue what Rabi could possibly want to talk to him about.

"Er, yeah," he said, running a hand through his spikes. "I wasn't actually doing anything, so that's fine, yeah. What's up?"

But watch out for the gnomes holy_hammer December 10 2009, 20:14:22 UTC
Before he launched into some long explanation, Rabi thought that it would be a good idea to confirm his suspicions. He didn't know for sure that Roxas could help him, so it would be for nothing if it turned out that he couldn't do anything. "Actually, I was wondering something: can you fight?"

It was a little straightforward, but he had seen Roxas' reflexes before, and those were definitely reflexes of a fighter. Rabi knew enough people with training that he could tell that much, at least. Still a confirmation of his suspicions would be good.

Mikuru sat by the lake, staring down the water. One day, she would get the courage to ask someone to teach her to swim, and she would not be such a failure at protecting Itsuki.

That day was clearly not today.

Rabi was walking by the lakeside when he saw Mikuru. She looked pretty down, too. Had something happened? Curious, Rabi walked over to where she was and crouched down near her. "Hey, what's up," he said, sounding concerned, "Is something wrong?"

Mikuru offered Rabi a brave smile.

"No, I'm okay. It's just..."

She sighed.

"I almost drowned in this lake when I first got here. And it's not the first time something like that happened... I wish I could swim, but I'm scared of the water."

She was scared of the water? Well, that wasn't too uncommon of a fear. And the water did get very deep very quickly, too. But how was she going to get around with such a big part of this place underwater? "What if I taught you," he offered, "I'm a pretty good swimmer, so I bet I could help."
