THAT'S RIGHT IT'S ROAD candledbloody December 13 2009, 08:43:25 UTC
Bored. Bored. Bored. Bored. Bored. Road wanted to kick someone. Preferably the Bookman who seemed like he was avoiding her for some weird reason. Ugh. The Void was the worst place to be in. She just wanted to go back and invade the Black Order already. And to top it off, her powers didn't even work. She was just a normal girl.

And that's what Road couldn't stand the most.

"I hate this place!" She shrieked, stomping her foot on the floor in vengeance. Where was Lero when you needed him?

Nozomi tilted her head and ran over to the whining child. "What's wrong? Are you new?"

Pause. Road looked up to see - oh! Someone her age! Finally.

"I just arrived a few days ago actually." She's cocking her head to the side.

"What's wrong with your clothes?"

"Ahaha..." Nozomi rubbed the back of her head. "I got berry juice all over them this morning and I haven't washed them yet. Anyway, my name's Yumehara Nozomi! What's yours?"

Out on her daily walk around the Void searching for dangers, Mikuru gave an affectionate pat to the tree now standing in the residential area.

She had utterly failed to notice anything out of the ordinary about this tree's presence.

"Hi!" Nozomi waved at her. "You're Kyon-san's friend, right? She told me about you! Do you want to help me decorate this tree?"

Mikuru nodded at the mention of Kyon, though she couldn't help taking a moment to wonder what exactly Kyon had said about her, and to hope that it was all good.

"Decorate the tree?" she asked, looking between it and Nozomi. "What for?"

It wasn't that she hadn't heard of Christmas; she simply hadn't registered the passing of time.

"Christmas is coming!" Nozomi smiled. "Lavi-san told me what day it was, and he knows everything, so that must mean Christmas really is coming. We don't have real decorations, but I made berry strings and painted some of the glasses and plates from the cafeteria to put on the tree!"

Santa is real in his world too! And he's on an alien planet to an alien planet which also has Santa. invisible_fail December 13 2009, 16:18:18 UTC
A tree in the residential zone wasn't anything particularly unusual. This part of the Void just seemed to have a thing for greenery of all kinds, and said greenery had a slight tendency to just pop up out of nowhere. Espio just ignored it at first, but it didn't take long before he noticed something - the tree hadn't grown there at all, it had been cut down and put there! Judging from some damage to the ground, it had probably been dragged.

Frowning, he looked around, wondering just what was going on. ...had someone tied flashlights to the elevator? What the hell was...?

"Alien Christmas?" he guessed, with a shrug. "Guess someone's trying to make do with what we've got. Can't fault 'em for trying..."

"Hi!" Nozomi popped up behind him, carrying a coiled string of berries, only some of them still intact. "I'm decorating for Christmas! Now, is there anything else we need...?"

Roxas was standing on the bridge that hung - still rather precariously - over the lake, and inspecting the damage from what he hoped was a safe distance. A tree in the Residential Area, flashlights on the elevator... He was pretty sure he already knew exactly who was behind all of the sudden decorating.

He had to admit, though, Nozomi had done a pretty good job without any help or actual decorative supplies; it may not have been Christmas Town, but it was as close as they were going to get. (Although, just how had she dragged that huge tree out of the forest by herself...?)

So, he watched out from there, expecting to see the tiny girl running back and forth with arms laden with... something strange, in any case.

"Roxas-saaaaan!"

Nozomi ran across the bridge, carrying a box from the warehouse. It didn't seem to be overly large, at least, and, unlike Lavi's present, it wasn't moving.

"Sorry I'm late, Roxas-san! I've been decorating all day long!"

Roxas, meanwhile, had both of his Keyblades in his hands, and he was watching the bubbles from the lake float up, off into the sky, but apart from the weapons in his hands, he didn't seem to have any trace of a present for Nozomi...

Still, he grinned, even if he did look a bit nervous, tightening his grip on his Keyblades spasmodically and shifting from foot to foot. "It's fine, Nozomi. Did you want to show me what you found, or should I go first?"

Nozomi held out the box in her hands. "I don't know if you like this, but I found it in the back of the warehouse and thought it was cool! I don't really know how to use it, but I bet you could use it for something!"

Immediately remembering that, oh yeah, he had his hands full already, Nozomi put down the box and opened it herself. Inside was a microscope and slides. The scientists who were meant to inhabit this world had probably been expected to use it.
