apologies for the pun, but it's been in my head for weeks now. I've been procrastinating on writing for the new blog I set up a couple weeks ago to serve as my Nicaragua journal, despite having things to convey to people (i.e., when i'm leaving, whether or not i know where i'm going, my new address, other faqs). it's not news that i've scantly used ( Read more... )

I think part of my longevity is the fact that I may have started the fad amongst our college peers. I've been livejournalling since I was 14, and though my posts have become more sporadic, I still find it a useful outlet. And, in fact, LJ often surprises me because of the way it keeps me here -- I've just joined a fabulous new writing community that has me writing again for the first time in forever. (Hint: the people who post their twitter feeds to LJ are NOT keeping me here. They annoy me.)

I will, of course, follow your other blog once you get it up and running. I'll add it to my google reader. I'm working on a grown up blog too, about the foibles of being married and being a feminist, and being awesome. I haven't posted there yet, but: http://ditzkey.wordpress.com/

I don't really know why I still post here sometimes, but I need somewhere to keep my thoughts and random stories and so far it has served me quite well. I tried once to migrate to a different blog, and I ended up feeling rather lonely and unloved, because while my friend list may not post often, I'd like to think that at least they are reading from time to time, so maybe I'm not so alone in the universe.

Be sure to let me know where you start your new blog, as hopefully you'll share some awesome amazing travel adventure stories!
