Infatuation is nothing but norepinephrine in the brain. Love is merely dopamine. These effects do not last--they cannot last. The perpetuation of these chemicals would, evolutionally speaking, somehow cause the extinction of our species. The best definition for love is "Infatuation with knowledge."

Forget science. If you are attracted to someone and after you get to know them, and especially their flaws, you still get that rush, it's love.

See, I don't think I can agree with that definition. I can be attracted to someone after getting to know them and I can love their flaws, but that, to me, is not even close to describing what love it. But if that's true for you, cool.

I agree with Tom...

I'm a scientist, I know how the human body works, how chemicals are what make us feel what we do.

Dan caught me...our chase phase is most definitely over...and there are still days when I am just as giddy as I was in the first weeks of our relationship. Believe me...science and emotions don't mix in any capacity.
