It's been a while since I used Excel but right now I'm trying to work out the cost in materials for an amigurumi I'm hoping to produce on commission for people. So here's what I gotta do
( Read more... )
It sounds like basic multiplication: i.e., multiply the cost of each material by the amount if takes to make each amigurumi. So if a sheet of craft felt costs $1, and you use half a sheet of it (to use an arbitrary example), the cost of craft felt per ami is 50 cents. And Excel will do most of the work for you :)
I would arrange the spreadsheet in consecutive columns. The first column would be the list of materials; the second would be the cost of each material, the third would be the quantity of each material that goes into an ami, and the fourth would be the cost per ami of each of the materials. Then do a sum at the bottom of column four and multiply it by four.
Does that make sense?
I also wanted to say that I just read The Boss of You and it is a GREAT book.
