While Eric was gone on his fishing trip, he received an offer for an internship. He got back yesterday and talked with his dissertation advisor and another faculty member. They seemed to really think this internship would help him in what he wants to do long-term. I'm really proud of him for getting this internship

Keep repeating to yourself "This is a good thing for hubby". I do it all the time and it makes me feel slightly better.
I can recommend some awesome restaurants.
Could you do a 3 month secondment at a firm in DC? All of the big 4 are in Tysons Corner/McLean (this is pretty much the same area). You could see how another firm runs AND be with Eric.

I'm also looking at it as a) i'm only un-booked on clients for 3 of the 17 weeks, b).... um.... got nothing, and c) It'll be football season so that will help keep my mind occupied.

Also, in October I head down to Winchester, VA. It's about an 8 hour drive. And it's an hour/hour and a half. You could ride down with me, rent a car, drive to DC for the long weekend, and be back in Winchester at the end of the weekend, to ride back with me. Thus, all it would cost you is some gas money and a car for a few days, which I do believe you can get pretty cheap. Or we could, if I'm still not working, figure something out wherein I can drop my camper off, and drive you into DC earlier in the week...and either come back and pick you up, or have Eric drive you out to me. Or something like that.
Anyway, just throwing the out there. So you could see him at least once.

Nationals is the first full weekend in October. Normally I would go down on Wednesday, but with you along we could work it out and go earlier if you'd like. I go home Monday, but again, could stay a day later if necessary.
That is all, of course, based around me not getting a job. But at the rate I'm going, with no phone calls about anything I've applied for, I think we're safe.
