Bryan Fischer is now his own trigger warning: an introduction

TW: Bry- oh you read the title!

So, once every three months or so I'll get into a conversation somewhere (Facebook, real life, anywhere really) about Bryan Fischer. Maybe this is because I read Right Wing Watch too much for my own good, but for me, Bryan Fischer is a giant blob of awful that ruins all the things. His sexism, cissexism, homophobia, racism, xenophobia, and just general horribleness are basically impossible to understate. But unlike Phelps - the prior endless supplier of horrifying ideas, he very effectively coats his hatred for everyone and everything in so much nationalism and, frankly, fascism, that he somehow seems less dangerous to affiliate with - at least for the likes of many of the Religious Right's celebrities and the American Family Association. In spite of this, it seems he's relatively unknown outside of those circles - even though he runs a horrible radio show that literally attracts the basest Americans like moths to a flame. A neo-fascist, eliminationist flame.

So, in the name of making it so I don't have to dig around the internet for about fifty different sources every time I name drop him as "everything that's wrong with the world" or a rough equivalent, I started a post. What I realized midway through writing it is that this is a series of posts. This isn't something that can possibly be contained to a single little blogpost. This is a systemic worldview that has to be picked apart, piece by piece. Consider the prior paragraph a general purpose trigger warning (which will be reproduced in each iteration). I'm going to split this up into sections as best as I can, and those as well will have section-specific warnings.

As sections get written, I'm going to add them to the list here, so you can navigate from one to another if so inclined and have a heads up about the specific triggers in specific sections:

Part 1: Fischer: on coerced and forced assimilation
TW - Islamophobia, eliminationism, ethno-religious cleansing, second class citizenship, demonization of indigenous cultures

Part 2: Fischer: on his biological view of race
TW - dehumanizing racial metaphors, slut shaming, (physical and mental) abilism, eugenics, coerced sterilization
