[Canon] My Little Pony : Friendship is Magic
[Point in time taken from canon] Episode 25
[Background]
Wikilink ho! [Personality]
AJ is a tough, hard-working young pony who isn't afraid to get her hooves dirty. She works on Sweet Apple Acres--an apple orchard farm owned and operated by her family--planting, carting, and apple buckin' the whole year through with her brother, Big Macantosh. She has one little sister, Applebloom, whom she always has to look out for. AJ tries to help out her sister in any way she can, trying to find her cutie mark, helping the 'Cutie Mark Crusaders', and even daring to take on the seemingly dangerous Zecora to save her sister when she was only the size of a kumquat. This demonstrates one of Apple's most important qualities, which is loyalty and determination.
She's always willing to help every pony in anyway she can, and will even take on most challenges and discomforting obstacles that other ponies will not. Especially when it comes to her friends. Once when Big Mac was injured and couldn't help during Apple Bucking Season, Applejack attempted to take on the job of clearing out all of Sweet Apple Acres herself. Unfortunately she was also too stubborn to accept any help from the other ponies, even when she was exhausted. While AJ is admirably determined and helpful, she is also equally stubborn and ill-tempered. Typically she will prefer to do things herself and without help. She is also very competitive, and gets into tiffs with Rainbow Dash who is equally so.
Being a tough little pony, AJ is typically averse to things that are considered 'girly'. Namely, dressing up, make up, and everything that Rarity stands for when it comes to fashion. She prefers to be comfortable and plans on getting dirty anyways as she works.
Normally Applejack is kind, considerate, and patient when it comes to others. But if she's met with harsh or rude behavior she will not stand for it, and can retaliate just as harshly as the behavior received. When she makes the mistake of behaving in such a manner she always apologizes for it soon afterward.
[Abilities]
Working on an apple farm her whole life, it can be argued that AJ is one of the strongest and most athletic of the ponies in Ponyville, next to Rainbow Dash of course. She's extremely skilled with a lasso, as to be expected from a pony of her background. Applejack also knows a thing or two about baking, especially when it comes to using apples! She usually bakes with Pinky Pie to help with some of her work, or to sell goods from the orchard. Applejack is also 'Honesty' in the Elements of Harmony.
[Other important stuff]
Applejack comes from the world known as Equestria, a land dominated by ponies, unicorns, and pegasus. There is also a great deal of other animals there, even mythical creatures such as dragons, all of which can speak. The ponies are the most populated, and sophisticated of any of the other creatures. They have cities, towns, and culture much like human beings of our time/age/world do. They are ruled by Princess Celestia and Luna.

[ It appears as though this poor Dreamberry is having a bad day. But you would too if you weren't being dealt with gently. A clutter here, a muffle there, and a few hoofsmacks for good measure. ]
Oh, shoot. I was never any good at these fancy doo dads.... [ That's right, she can be heard! Like some sort of portable speaker? ] I'm sorry everypony, my hooves ain't fer workin' things like this here doo dad. I s'pose it'd be good for me to be polite now.
Howdy ya'll, my name's AppleJack. It looks like I've lost my way somehow, but I don't remember any place in Ponyville lookin' like this. Can anypony point me in the right direction, please?
[Third Person]
"Well ain't you just a mite stubborn?" the young orange mare called up to the apple tree looming above her. She'd kicked and bucked, but the apples just wouldn't shake off. And there was no tree that Applejack couldn't buck.
Reaching up with one hoof, she removed her hat to wipe some of the sweat on her head before returning the hat back to its respectful place. It sure as sugar was odd that the apples wouldn't budge. "I best go get Big Macintosh fer this one."
Normally AJ didn't like asking for help, but she'd wasted enough time trying to buck this tree, and it was time for those apples to fall. Her older brother had been plowing the fields for new apple trees when she'd galloped over to him. "Big Mac? I'm havin' trouble with this here tree that just won't let go of it's apples. I don't know what the hay is the matter, but buckin' just ain't workin."
"Buckin' ain't workin?" the large red horse repeated, adjusting the sprig of wheat in his mouth. Surely there was something wrong if his sister couldn't get the apples to fall. Next to him, there was no better pony for the job. Big M didn't know what to be more worried about: AJ asking for help, or the apples that wouldn't fall. "Let me come an' see."
Applejack led her big brother back over to the apple tree, rearing back to buck the trunk expertly to demonstrate the lack of apples. Big Macintosh twisted at his wheat sprig, staring up at the tree in silence as he thought. AJ narrowed her eyes and blinked at her brother. She hated when he went off in his thoughts all quiet like. "Well?"
"They ain't budgin'," he declared finally, looking back at her. The mare didn't seem too enthusiastic about his response. "They sure as sugar ain't."
"Yer not hittin' it right," a small, mumbling voice came from behind them. The sibling ponies turned to find Granny Smith a'scooting over with her walker, looking up at the tree. Normally the older pony didn't bother leaving the barn unless she needed her grandponies. "Somethin' wrong, Granny?" Big Mac asked, a little confused.
She stopped her walker in front of the tree trunk, turning to pat a spot with her old, shaky hoof. "Ya gotta hit'r right here. This one's an old, stubborn fella."
Applejack blinked over at Big Macintosh, then back to Granny Smith. Granny never so much as left the barn, much less indicated she knew anything more than the chores she took to--and those didn't include apple buckin', on account of her bad hip. But she didn't give the young ponies a chance to respond before scooting off again back towards the barn.
"Well, it's worth a shot I reckon," AJ finally broke the silence, walking back up to the tree, eying the spot Granny had pointed out. Why not? She'd tried everything else on her own. Rearing back, she gave the tree a powerful kick with her hind legs, aimed directly for the spot Granny had shown them. Sure enough, the apples came tumbling off the branches. This left Applejack with a slack jaw, turning from the tree to look in the direction Granny had walked off to, then back to her brother.
"Guess the old gal's got some buck still left in her," she said with a smile, moving to pick up the apples and place them in their baskets, Big Mac turning to go back to his own chores. But of course responding with, "E'yup."
[Why do you want to play this character in Somarium?] THIS IS WHERE THE PONIES B From what I heard it seems like a really cool place, and hey, I can't deny my good friend Twilight Sparkle.
[Which rule was your favorite and why?] Everything under the 'be active' section. It's an easy and highly reasonable requirement, and good for us ponies who have work and school but need play time too.
[Where did you hear about Somarium?] My good buddy Emerald forced referred me here.
[Any questions?] Are there any apples here? :B
