Hey, Cory! I just voted. News reports say turnout is quite heavy in Virginia. The heavier the turnout, the better, I say. Everyone needs to participate!

We're so forutnate to live in a country where we can vote. I don't want to hear one single complaint from anyone who didn't vote!

Way to go, buddy!

When did Virginia start doing primaries rather than their own delegate convention?

This is the first year for primaries in Virginia, and both parties are having primaries today. We do not have to register by party (thank goodness!), but we can vote in only one or the other, of course. According to the news, most Virginians are voting in the Democratic primary, and the expected winners are Obama and McCain.

Virginians are so confusing. They flip flop from red to blue at the drop of a hat. I guess that comes from them being somewhat independent or above the clamor of the national doings.

Virginia has been red/conservative for as long as I can remember. The last time Virginia voted Democratic in a presidential election was 1964. The times are changing, though, as seen by the election of Jim Webb over George Allen in 2006, and Tim Kaine's election as governor in 2005. I would consider Virginia a real toss-up this year. But, it is true that many of our politicians have little use for what is going on beyond our hallowed borders.

Rock on Buck! Big hugs to you and Zeke! And trust me, I so know about the whole not working thing. If we were closer we could lunch!

Howdy, Jay. I've been out of work for a little over four months now. I fill my days with flickr and LJ and other diversions when I probably should be trying harder to look for a job!

And I'd love to have lunch with you if you would cook. I've seen some of the treats you can whip up!
