I wish we lived in a country where there was enough sunshine to make solar panels worthwhile :-)

Maybe a windmill would work better for you. I don't know of any way to harness the power of falling rain. :-)

Metal roof = rainwater harvesting?

No, that's just the way it was designed in 1927. However, I like the idea of rainwater harvesting...something we will have to look into. Thanks for putting that idea in my head!

I almost forgot you were on here! Let's hope John doesn't have to put in a water desalination unit to get you to post again!

Sorry, it has been a long time, hasn't it? I've been spending more time on Flickr and Facebook, but I was really missing LJ. I'll try to be better about checking in and posting. Hope everything is going well for you guys!

Chris and I are doing great. I'm on Facebook, but because I'm a teacher and all my students found me, I am very selective about what I post. Frankly I find Facebook to be exceedingly infantile with too many thinly disguised advertisements parading as games. No I don't want to accept a silly fish, flower or what-not. No, I don't want to join _____ (insert name of group here). I'm there as Barry Nicholson. Feel free to add me, but don't send me a damned fish! LOL

I'm getting a little tired of Facebook, too, but it's a pretty good way to keep up with some new friends. I have turned off almost all of those tedious juvenile applications, but I'm still sucking lollipops! LOL!
