the trouble here, dear Brian, is that you have not stated whether or not you complained. Yes, they are supposed to give you those things...But in specific regards to the staying for 14 hours did you tell them you wanted to go home? If they ask you to work 14 hours and you agree then you have not been forced to work. Now, should you decline to work and then they fire you, that is a violation of the law!
stick it to the man, Brian. Most places of employment assume that people just want money and won't complain for fear of dismissal, but they can't fire you for standing up for your rights.
