Hope to see you more on LJ in 2011. There ARE some of us furs out there who are also "normal" in that we have jobs and look to the future more than just the next furry con.

Prescription glasses of any kind are expensive. I'm in the same situation regarding vision that's shifting as I get older. It's getting very hard to see the settings on my camera... the writing is so small. Before you plunk down serious cash for expensive custom made glasses, check out the cheepie reading glasses available at various "dollar" stores. The very weakest strength glasses are perfect distance glasses... the way my eyes are now. I have another pair that are wicked strong for really close work, and another of in-between strength for computer work.
They cost me $1.99 at a close-out store up here. The dollar store in Graham near the new sports store near WM had glasses for around $5. The weak spot in almost every pair of glasses is the link where the ear piece joins the lens frame. My sister spent nearly $300 at an optical shop (Lens-Crafters) and had the frame break in less than a month. You're much better off if that happens to a $1.99 pair of glasses.
