Well, not exactly. "Droid" is a registered trademark by Verizon, licensed from George Lucas. However, there are Android OS based phones on all of the major US carriers.
I made mention of that. I was just comparing the Motorola Droids to the Apple iPhones. When my contract is due it's going to be a hard choice. I use my Droid a lot for the fire department, and other things. I have to see if the iPhone can do the same thing.
I was just saying that you have other carriers to go to. I personally have had good service with US Cellular, and Cricket seems to be an interesting upstart, both of which use a wide range of Droid phones. I have liked my HTC Desire so far since we got it a month ago.
There's a lot of carriers out there that carry Android-based phones, one of the better ones are the Epic, the Galaxy, and the EVO, all of which are on Sprint or on other carriers with different names. Personally, I have a Touch Pro 2 which is a Windows Mobile based phone, and I love it a lot.
I had the touch pro and touch pro 2 just before my Motorola Droid and oh my god the difference was night and day! No more dead keyboards, screens, and more keyboards. Goodbye HTC for me!
