I felt so bad for Joan when Roger was basically breaking up with her. It felt like she really thought he loved her and he was just saying 'you're the hottest chick I ever banged'. He's such a douche, but I love him.

The sex with the salesman was probably only not awkward because it was a dream. Sex with strangers in real life is awkward. (Yes, I know I have absolutely no experience to base that judgment on.)

Don hating Pete just makes me laugh. I love Pete, but I'm always happy when bad things happen to him. He's so cute when he's pouting. But HE TOOK THE BOX! OH NO!

Also, all the guys from this time period were awful to their wives. The only married man character who hasn't cheated on his wife is Harry (cute guy with glasses) and they all expect their wives to be perfectly loyal and obedient.

Uh, apparently we are watching different shows, lol. I guess I just don't see Roger as a romantic character. I think he enjoyed sleeping with Joan because it was exciting and she was hot. I think he has some affection for her, but I don't think he loves her at all. The only person Roger Sterling loves is Roger Sterling.

I feel that. I don't think he loves her in the conventional like lay down your life for someone loves her. I feel like he loves her in a if I could love someone more than myself I would want it to be you kinda way. To me he knows that he is selfish and him breaking up with her was more like a "i'm too selfih and I'm hurting you" kinda break up.
